In the footsteps of Edvard Munch in Kragerø

Edvard Munch lived at Skrubben in Kragerø from 1909 to 1915. During his stay in Kragerø, Munch experienced one of his most intensely creative periods. Here he was inspired by the people and scenery surrounding him. This led to the creation of two of his main works, namely The Sun and The History.

We will follow in the footsteps of Munch and experience the various locations where the artist painted ten of his most important motifs from Kragerø. Some locations have remained unchanged to the present day, while others are completely unrecognizable. The trail of the artist's footsteps winds through streets and areas not normally visited by tourists, taking you to his home at Skrubben. The trail ends in the hills behind the town where he painted, inter alia, The Yellow Log.

On our way back to Oslo, we will take a short break in Åsgårdstrand. Yet again we will follow in the footsteps of Munch, along the shore, visiting his property and a small part of the village, and end up at Munch's Café where supper will be served. After dinner we will head back to Oslo.

This day trip lasts from 08:30 to 19:30 o'clock. Price: NOK 1,990 per person. The tour includes very comfortable transportation by bus Oslo - Kragerø - Åsgårdstrand - Oslo, a short city walk in Kragerø, lunch at Morfar Café, a two hours guided walk in Munch's Kragerø.
